The Portland Police Association is the police union for most of the sworn members of the Portland Police Bureau. The PPA is also an intervenor in the USDOJ v. City of Portland Settlement Agreement. Aaron Schmautz is also a Sergeant with the Portland Police Bureau. Following the briefing with the PPA, City Commissioner Dan Ryan will also be briefing the Police Accountability Commission. After their presentation, each briefer will take questions from the members of the commission as well as the public on how Portland’s current police accountability system works, and barriers to accountability and best practices within the system. This email is also a public meeting notice for several upcoming meetings. |

Occasionally, a week will have these meetings reversed, with the full commission meeting Monday. Meetings are held from 7-9 PM, except that one full commission meeting each month is from 6:30-9 PM. As more information is finalized for each meeting, it will be posted at the links above. The links include Zoom connection information and in-person viewing sites for members of the public to observe the meeting and participate with public comment, agenda items for the meeting, and other documents. Tall grass

As you all can see we are getting a lot of very tall grass and weeds around the neighborhood. Last weekend, Mazzy supervised Gia, Michael, Shayla, Kyle, and some other guy while they mowed the Gertz Road Truck Trap. That area was getting out of control and these neighbors decided to do something about it. Thank you all for coming together to tackle that area.
At our last meeting, the neighborhood Board asked that I reach out to neighbors with tall grass and learn if anyone needs assistance getting theirs under control. Rest assured, we are not becoming a lawn police! Tall grass and weeds can harbor harmful rodents and can become a fire hazard. If you have some overgrown areas, please mow them down. If they are more than you can handle contact me and I’ll get you some assistance.

Help clean up the traffic circle
For many years a local family adopted and maintained the landscaping on and near the Gertz
Road TRUCK TRAP. The kids have grown and circumstances have changed such that they are
not able to maintain this area any longer.
I’m looking for volunteers to pick up where they left off. Ideally one of you can head the effort
and bring volunteer workers together, every few weeks, to take care of this area. If you think
this could be you, please contact neighborhood chairman, Gary Kunz 503-799-1803 or

This Truck Trap is the only one of its kind in the City of Portland and was designed, with the
intent of keeping large trucks out of our neighborhood. The west side of our neighborhood is a
designated Freight District.
