Our neighborhood is an unusual mix of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. At a recent meeting, the ECNA Board agreed that we’d like to feature some of our local neighborhood businesses in our neighborhood newsletter and on the website. This month Board Chair Gary Kunz would like to introduce you to one that he has personally used.

JLE TruckWash, Inc. is an Oregon based company serving the trucking industry since 1981. They specialize in on-site truck washing for truck load and grocery distribution centers. Currently, there are locations in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. One of our longtime neighbors, Jhonny Interian Montalvo, manages the JLE Sandblasting and Detail shops on NE Vancouver Way. An East Columbia resident for fourteen years, Jhonny has managed the JLE facilities for ten.

When I needed my boat trailer cleaned, and later the 900 pound cast iron boat keel, I took them to JLE. Their facilities are sized to handle commercial trucks, so my little trailer and keel were no challenge for them. Both times the metal was superbly cleaned and ready for paint. Though their primary focus is commercial trucks, Jhonny says the Detail Shop can also handle personal vans or autos. I highly recommend this company. If you need detailing, steam cleaning, or sand blasting look them up and give Jhonny a call.

Levee Evaluations on NE Marine Drive
Expect Delays

(Portland) – Levee Ready Columbia is conducting geotechnical evaluations of the levee along the Columbia River to better understand the risk of flooding from the Columbia River. The work will also help ensure that the levee meets federal standards associated with flood insurance and development regulations.

The work includes the use of drilling equipment to take soil samples from the system of levees that reduce the risk of flooding for over 12,000 acres in north and northeast Portland, Fairview, Gresham, and Troutdale.

This work will result in lane closures and traffic delays on NE Marine Dr. for approximately three weeks (Mondays-Fridays from 7 am to 6 pm), starting the week of February 20, 2017.

Access to businesses and residences will remain open at all times.

During the work period on NE Marine Drive, segments one lane of traffic will be closed.  A flagging crew will be on site. Marine Drive users are asked to consider alternate routes and to consult navigation, wayfinding, and road condition services such as ODOT’s Trip Check, Google Maps, Waze or similar services for assistance.
Drilling work will be visible from the Marine Drive multi-use path (40 Mile Loop trail). The work also required some closures of the 40-mile loop trail east of Sundial Road. No additional trail closures are expected.
