Commercial Rent Relief Program

FYI – State program funding available

the Oregon Legislative Emergency Board on January 8, 2021, allocated $100 million to fund a new Commercial Rent Relief Program to provide financial assistance to small businesses and landlords adversely affected by economic conditions as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program will be administered by Business Oregon in two rounds and will:

a.       Target tenant businesses with 100 or less Employees who are in lease payment arrears due to COVID-19.

b.       Require property owner participation and includes additional protections for tenants, such as non-eviction clauses, and a waiver of penalties and interest.

c.       Award grants through a random lottery process.

The application opens statewide on Monday, March 8 and the deadline to apply is Monday, March 22. The second round will open in April and unselected applications from the first round will carry over for consideration in the second round.
