City Council kicks off a series of public hearings on Thursday, November 19
It begins: the final leg of the Comprehensive Plan Update (before the new plan goes to the state for acknowledgement). The first of several public hearings on the Recommended Draft is this Thursday, November 19. Portlanders, get your testimony on!

 
 
Comprehensive Plan grabs media attention
City Council began a series of five Comp Plan work sessions on September 29, setting off a flurry of media coverage from print and broadcast outlets. As commissioners dove into the details of the draft 2035 Plan, reporters helped explain the big picture to the public.

Testimony Index
Ever wonder what other people said about the 2014 Proposed Draft of the Comprehensive Plan? Wonder no more! All 4,000 comments sent to the Planning and Sustainability Commission for their review have been catologued into a searchable index. Online viewing of testimony being sent to City Council is in the works. 

 
 
 
Residential and Open Space Zoning Map available for review
The Map App has a newcomer: the Residential and Open Space Zoning Map. You can view the map and comment on the proposed changes in the Discussion Draft until December 21.

 
 
 
Hospital and college campuses get an assist with zoning update
The Campus Institutional Zoning Project has released a proposed draft of its map and zoning changes in advance of a public hearing with the Planning and Sustainability Commission on December 15 at 5 p.m. New development standards will manage the “edge” of these campuses while transportation review processes will monitor traffic impacts as these campuses grow up, not out.
