Comp Plan July ’15 update

Portland's Comprehensive Plan Update E-News

July 2015

What a long, thoughtful trip it’s been!
Last Tuesday, July 14, the Planning and Sustainability Commission got to one action short of recommending the entire Comprehensive Plan package to City Council. But they opted to hold off on the last item — the Goals and Policies document — until they heard from the project’s Community Involvement Committee (CIC) on July 28. A fitting tribute to the hard work of this all-volunteer advisory committee.

Discussion drafts for zoning code updates are on their way
Early Implementation projects for the Comprehensive Plan Update will help manage Portland’s growth and development over the next 20 years. Employment land, campus institutions and mixed use zones projects will update zoning codes that regulate size, allowed uses, location and scale of new buildings and development.

Employment Zoning Project Discussion Draft Released
Curious about how Portland could provide more land for roughly 141,000 new jobs expected between 2010 and 2035 — while protecting neighborhood livability and watershed health? The Employment Zoning Project Discussion Draft provides a “sneak peek” at what project staff are contemplating.
