Thank you, Thank you!
Hello Members, We would like to personally thank everyone for another wonderful season here at NPTL. We have loaned over 7,500 tools this year. And that has resulted in approximately $450,000 in savings to the community. Wow! That’s a huge number!
Not to mention the person hours of the many volunteers who’ve donated their time this season–Howard Harrington, Kathy Duran, Katie Dvorsky, Kate Richard, Paul Urban, Kelly Gallagher, Hunter Gray, Leigh McIlvaine, Larry Truman, Bruce Sherman, Bob Hable, TJ Szot, Tom Comfort, Ted Swagerty, Sarah Jacobs, Joel Michael, Greg Garcia, Emily Ordas, Charlie Parrot, Peter Laughingwolf, Stu Webster, Vikki Payne, and Kendra. We give you are heartfelt thanks and hope that you will join us again in the future.
We would also like to take this time to recognize
Triffid Abel
Volunteer of the Year!
If you’ve been in on Tuesday evenings, you’ve probably been helped by Triffid, who has donated over 100 hours this year to run the tool library. Triffid also coordinated the tool sale this past spring. Thank you, Triffid!
Did we mention how we saved the North Portland community $450,000 this year alone? We just wanted to point that out again, and to ask you to check us out on VolunteerSpot and see how you can get involved with this great and important organization.
We will no longer have a Saturday morning shift, but we do need folks now who don’t mind sparks, files and metal brushes and have major organizational skills: That’s right, it’s time to start our winter cleaning and sharpening of tools. If you would like to be involved, or even head up this effort, we’d love to have you. Sign up or come by.
Want to get involved in things like putting on fun events, conceiving of and organizing workshops, or rounding up volunteers? If so, we need you! Contact us anytime at info@northportlandtoollibrary.org.
Our next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct 13th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Historic Kenton Firehouse. Feel free to join us if you are interested in helping us build a better community.
Thanks! Laurie & the NPTL Board

Endings
With each new beginning, there must come an ending. This is the final week of Kenton’s farmers market, so be sure to get your last-minute stock of goodies before they’re gone for the winter. Also, we will be paring down our own resources for winter, as well and reducing the frequency of this newsletter to once a month till March.
