Portland Community Insights Survey
 
 
Over the past several months, the City of Portland has been working internally and with community leaders throughout Portland on a new citywide initiative called the Portland Community Insights Survey. We designed the survey to gather insights from all Portlanders to provide local government with data that reflects our diverse city.
 
Our hope is that this survey provides an opportunity for Portland community members to make their voices heard and contribute in meaningful ways to the City’s budgeting and policy-making processes. Insights from this survey will help us build a stronger and more inclusive Portland.
 
We want to make sure that you and your community are represented in this survey and represented in Portland’s government decision-making.
 
Please share the survey link as widely as possible and encourage those in your networks and communities to make their voices heard:
 

  

  • The survey will remain open through May 28th.
  • In addition to the online survey, we have a team of student and community leaders conducting in-person canvassing of the survey in underrepresented communities. If you see them in bright blue Community Data Fellows t-shirts – please stop for a chat!
  • The survey is available online in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Russian.
  • The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • The survey is opt-in and available to anyone who lives, works, and/or plays in the city of Portland.

Remodel in neighborhood

To whom it may concern,

We are adding a second story and a 50 s.f. addition to the residence at 1421 Ne Gertz. We are creating 650 s.f. of new habitable space which exceeds the 500 s.f. max, thus qualifying it as an MRAA. The remodel will commence on or about 35 days from this email.

Arboretum care


On April 13th over 50 volunteers will participate in an event in the Columbia Children’s Arboretum from 9am – 12n. 
 
While no more volunteers are needed, residents of ECNA should be grateful for all the efforts of these volunteers.

They will mulch hundreds of native trees and shrubs that were planted this past winter!  They may also take out some weedy introduced plants, if time allows.  These Tree Care events help to ensure the highest level of plant survival through our dry summer months.
The event is sponsored by Friends of Trees,Portland Parks and Recreation, and Rosemary Anderson High school students.

If you get a chance stop in and thank them for all their work.

Thank you for your interest!  This work party is now full and closed to further volunteer support — please consider any of our other open events, and thank you for your consideration!

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather, wear sturdy shoes (no sandals of any kind, please!)–and get ready to have fun!

Under age 18? A signed youth waiver is required for you to volunteer. We ask that youth 15 years and younger are accompanied by an adult.

Grant applications

Announcing the 2019 North Portland Trust fund grant program.

Attached are information and application for the grant selection committee, grant instructions and grant application.

Grant application deadline is May 15, 2019 2:00 pm.

We are looking to re-build the grant selection committee. Those who participate on the grant selection committee are also eligible to submit a grant application. If this interests you, please complete the grant selection application. (Grant selection member application due May 1, 2019).

Neighborhoods including Kenton, Arbor Lodge, Overlook and University Park will be coordinating their own grant programs.

Neighborhoods outside of those boundaries such as Bridgeton, Cathedral Park, East Columbia, Hayden Island, Portsmouth, Piedmont and St. Johns can use the attached grant application.
