Mowing along Marine Drive
Greetings District Resident,
As you may know, your property is located within a network of 27-miles of levees and
12 pump stations that reduce the risk of flooding for 13,000 acres of land along the
lower Columbia River and Columbia Slough from North Portland through Gresham,
Fairview, and Troutdale.
Between Monday, October 24, 2022, and Friday, November 4, 2022, Multnomah County
Drainage District (MCDD), the special district that maintains this infrastructure, will be
mowing the levees adjacent to Marine Drive, which will likely impact Marine Drive
traffic during this time.
Managing vegetation on the levees is a critical aspect of our flood-fighting operations as we near the rainy season. MCDD plans to mow the levees adjacent to the NE Marine Drive right-of-way between the 2220 NE Marine Dr and the NE 223rd Ave intersection.
This project will close one lane of traffic in one-mile segments at a time. Traffic control
will be in place on weekdays between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm, as to avoid peak
travel hours. Please plan accordingly. Warning signs will be placed on Marine Drive one
week ahead of the scheduled work.
If you have any questions or concerns about the project, please call Aster Moulton at
503-281-5675 or email us at info@mcdd.org.

We invite you to partner with us in sending Christmas presents to children, ages 5-9, in needy places of the world.
You can drop off your gifts, that fit in a shoe box, for boys and girls, on Sundays between 10 am – 12 noon, before November 11th, when we will pack the boxes up, and send them out.
Just put the gifts in the tub, located inside the front door of the church, with the yellow sign.
