Dear North Portland Doers Forum friends,
The subject line says it all. It is with some sadness that the North Portland Doers Forum board has decided to dissolve our nonprofit organization which was dedicated to supporting organizations focused on North Portlanders facing houselessness, housing instability and food insecurity.
The decision to dissolve was not taken easily. However we had to acknowledge that attendance at the quarterly Forum sessions had diminished. As we assessed the situation, we took pride in knowing that the many educational and networking opportunities the Doers Forum provided to organizations like yours over the last three and a half years made a difference by presenting opportunities to network, develop skills, build organizational capacity, leverage resources and collaborate with like-minded community partners.
Around the same time, the board became aware of Community Services Network PDX, a growing and effective Portland area social service nonprofit hub whose focus is to increase education, networking and collaboration opportunities between nonprofits, government agencies and community organizations. We are confident that CSN PDX can offer multiple opportunities to help your organization grow and serve its mission effectively. Please check out their website (https://www.csnpdx.org/).

- Feed the Mass is all about empowering the community through food. They also offer other services
MIKE Program–https://www.mikeprogram.org/
- Mike Program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and mentor underserved students to lead healthy lives personally, in their school community, and beyond. Their areas of focus are on Health Behaviors, Healthy Populations, Workforce Development, Community Health, and Health Literacy.
Meals on Wheels – https://www.mowp.org
- MOW is a familiar non-profit that also offers
- Financially accessible (donation based) full dining experience accessible for people 60+ https://www.mowp.org/what-we-do/dining-centers/ In addition to food, they have special events, games and education.
- Meals4kids – https://www.mowp.org/what-we-do/meals-for-kids/ They deliver meals to low income families in the City of Portland
Thank you for your participation in the North Portland Doers Forum and for the work you do in helping North Portland residents. It has been an honor to work with the many folks — staff and volunteers — who bring so much heart and perseverance to meet the need. Applications for PIR-North Portland Advisory Board have been ExtendedAfter a three-year pause, the PIR-North Portland Trust Fund has amassed $120,000 in funding. NPNS seeks advisory board members from each neighborhood association to steer impactful community projects. Whether it’s noise reduction, cleaner air, or community engagement, your input matters. Apply now to shape North Portland’s future! 
Portland Harbor Community GrantsPortland Harbor Community Grants are available to support community-led projects and programs about the Portland Harbor Superfund. Applications are due Feb. 15
Community Activities Funds AvailableThe Office of Community & Civic Life supports neighborhood associations and other community organizations through the Community Activities Fund (CAF). The CAF reimburses volunteer-run organizations in the southwest, north, east neighborhood district for money spent on community-building and civic engagement activities. Eligible organizations in these areas are invited to apply.

Zoning & Land UsePublic notices for North Portland
NPLUG+TNPLUG+T is a forum for land use and transportation. Representatives from the Bureau of Transportation, Planning and Sustainability, and Development Services are invited to provide updates, trainings and presentations on projects impacting North Portland. Hybrid meetings are typically held at The Historic Kenton Firehouse the last Thursday of the month 7 – 8:30 pm. 
Portland COAD The 
PSACPublic Safety Action Committee (PSAC) is a monthly meeting held to address local North Portland resident and business concerns related to public safety and livability issues. Virtual meetings are held the third Thursday of the month from 7 – 8:30 pm.
